HOT CHOCOLATE WITH COCONUT CREAM (VEGAN)

For all chocolate lovers. This drink is made with pure cocoa and vegetable milk. The result is a creamy, sweet and intense hot chocolate. And with freshly made coconut cream, it will become one of your favourite drinks when the cold weather arrives.

Ingredients

  • For the chocolate:
  • 10 gr pure cocoa powder
  • 30 g dark chocolate bar
  • 500 ml vegetable milk
  • 15 g cornflour
  • 25 g maple syrup or agave syrup
  • For the coconut cream:
  • 400 ml coconut milk (canned)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Instructions

  • Before preparing this drink, be sure to store the can of coconut milk in the fridge for at least an hour beforehand, as it needs to be cold to use it.
  • Insert the whisk attachment into the mixing bowl. Add all the ingredients for the chocolate in the bowl. Program 5 minutes at speed 1 and temperature 90º.
  • In the meantime, open the can of coconut milk. With a spoon, scoop out only the white part that will have solidified on the surface. You can save the liquid left in the base for other dishes, such as curries or desserts.
  • Pour the solid coconut milk into a bowl. Add the vanilla and sugar. Whisk with a hand or electric whisk, as if you wanted to whip cream. You will see that it will have a similar texture to traditional cream.
  • Let the chocolate cool for a minute before serving.
  • Add a spoonful of cream on top of the hot chocolate and enjoy!
