Surimi and crean cheese wonton

Realizada por@art_by_sue
These wontons are ideal for a homemade oriental dinner and very easy to make. Although they are fried, they are not heavy at all. Be careful, though, because they are addictive and you will eat one after the other without stopping until you finish them all. They can be filled with other ingredients as long as they can be made into a compact paste with a smooth consistency and flavour. Wonton paste is sold in Asian supermarkets and is usually available frozen.

Ingredients

  • 6 surimi sticks
  • 2 tablespoons chopped spring onion (30 g)
  • 2 tablespoons sautéed onion (15 g)
  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese (45 g)
  • 12 frozen wonton slices
  • Sunflower oil for frying
  • Spicy sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce

Instructions

  • Use the food processor accessory at maximum power in all steps. Place the surimi sticks in the processor. Chop for 30 seconds.
  • Add the chopped spring onion and the sautéed onion. Blend for a further 30 seconds.
  • When the paste is smooth, add the cream cheese and blend for a further 30 seconds.
  • Remove 12 wonton sheets from the freezer a few minutes before use (save the rest for another occasion). Roll out one at a time and moisten the ends with water so that they stick together better. Place a teaspoon of surimi paste, about the size of a small cherry, in the centre of each sheet. Close into tightly packed sachets.
  • Heat the oil in a small deep frying pan. Once hot, place the wontons in the oil and fry carefully so that they do not burn. Remove with tongs and place on absorbent paper.
