Beef meatballs in wine

There are few dishes that are more successful in every house than meatballs. In this recipe we will prepare them lighter than usual, since instead of frying them we will steam them taking advantage of the time the sauce is cooked. In this way we provide less fat and they are just as juicy. You will need more than one loaf of bread to dip.

For the meatballs

  • 1 kg minced veal
  • 1 egg size L
  • 100 gr milk
  • Chopped parsley (to taste)
  • Ground pepper (to taste)
  • Garlic powder (to taste)
  • Onion powder (to taste)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Corn flour for batter

For the sauce

  • 500 gr crushed tomato
  • 1 onion 150 g
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 250 ml red wine
  • 50 gr virgin olive oil
  • 15 gr flour
  • Salt to taste


  • Put the blade accessory in the glass and add the minced meat, milk, egg and spices (parsley, garlic, onion and salt). Set for 2 minutes at speed 3 and close the glass.
  • Remove the dough from the meatballs with the spatula, put it in a bowl and put it away in the fridge so that it takes on body.
  • Wash the glass of the Chefbot, insert the blade accessory, add the peeled and chopped onion next to the garlic cloves, set at speed 6 for 20 seconds and close the glass.
  • Replace the blade accessory with the stir paddle accessory to fry the vegetables. Then place the empty deep steam basket on top, together with the shallow steam basket, so that it gets hot while the vegetables are being cooked, without forgetting to put the lid on. Program 5 minutes at 110ºC and speed 1.
  • Make the meatballs and coat them with cornmeal. Place them on the shallow steam basket (if they don't fit, you can put baking paper with holes in it between layers).
  • Open the Chefbot and, taking care not to burnyourself, take out the deep steam basket and add the tomato, flourand wine to the glass and place the shallow steam basket with the meatballs. Don't forget to put thelid on the steam basket and program 25 minutes at 110ºC, speed 10.
  • Open the Chefbot and check the salt in the sauce and rectify if necessary. Transfer the meatballs from the shallow steam basket to the glass, using the stir paddle accessory and programme 5 minutes at 100ºC, speed 1. Openthe Chefbot and serve the meatballs.
