In Sicily, one of the most iconic summer breakfasts is granita with brioche. We wanted to bring a little piece of Sicily home, without boarding a plane—straight from our kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 1  L milk or preferred plant-based drink
  • 250  ml freshly brewed coffee
  • 3 tbsp cocoa or chocolate drink mix
  • Sweetener to taste (sugar, syrup, dates…)

Instructions

  • Brew the coffee and mix it with the milk (at room temperature or cold) and cocoa.
  • If you’re using a sweetener, add it now. If using dates, make sure to blend all ingredients thoroughly until smooth.
  • Pour into the Slush Maker, select the “Frappé” program, and let the cycle run.
  • After around 45 minutes, the frappé will be at the perfect texture to enjoy.
  • The best part: you can change it up each time by adding different syrups like vanilla, salted caramel, pumpkin spice…
