Ingredients
For the bowls:
- 4 thick slices of brioche or artisanal sandwich bread (preferably slightly stale)
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup milk (can be plant-based)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
- Melted butter or spray for greasing
To serve:
- ½ cup fresh raspberries
- 1 –2 teaspoons powdered sugar
- Honey (maple syrup, or yogurt (optional))
Instructions
- Cut the bread slices into medium cubes (about 2 cm). If the bread is very soft, you can lightly toast the cubes to prevent them from soaking too much.
- In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar (if using).
- Add the bread cubes and mix well to soak without breaking apart. Let rest for 2–3 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 3 minutes.
- Use two small air fryer-safe molds and grease them with melted butter or spray.
- Place the soaked bread cubes in each mold and add some raspberries.
- Cook the bowls for 8–10 minutes, or until golden and crispy on the outside. Time may vary depending on your model.
- Let cool for 2–3 minutes.
- Now add the remaining raspberries or mash them in a bowl with some syrup to pour over the French toast.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar and add honey, syrup, or a bit of yogurt if desired.
