A smooth, creamy and visually irresistible drink that combines the sweet, vanilla-like flavour of ube with the vegetal and slightly bitter notes of matcha. Perfect enjoyed hot or cold as an original alternative to the classic matcha latte.

Ingredients

  • 80 g soaked raw cashews
  • 700 ml water
  • 2 tablespoons ube powder
  • 2 pitted dates or 15 ml agave syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

For the matcha

  • 2 teaspoons matcha tea
  • 60 ml hot water (approx. 80 °C)

Instructions

  • Place the soaked cashews, water, ube powder, dates, vanilla and a pinch of salt into the Vegan Milk Maker Studio jug.
  • Select the plant-based drink or Nut Milk program until smooth and creamy.
  • Meanwhile, place the matcha in a small bowl.
  • Add the hot water and whisk with a chasen or milk frother until fully dissolved and lightly foamy.
  • Pour the hot ube milk into the glasses first.
  • Slowly pour the matcha over the milk to create a layered effect. A little extra milk can also be added if desired.
