LENTIL SPREAD WITH MACADAMIA NUTS

Realizada porCREATE
Hummus is the most popular in this category (with all its possible variants), but spreads based on cooked vegetables allow many other possibilities. Macadamia nuts contribute two things: one at a nutritional level (good quality fat) and the other at a gastronomic level (they will leave small pieces that will provide resistance to biting, making this pâté even more tasty). To enhance the first part, it is important that the Macadamia nuts are raw or roasted, as frying them puts them in a much less interesting place.

Ingredients

  • 600 g cooked lentils
  • 100 g Macadamia nuts
  • 1 clove of garlic (or to taste)
  • 4 tablespoons of lemon juice (60 ml) and, if desired, the grated peel
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil (60 ml)
  • 4 tablespoons of cold water (60 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon of hot paprika (5 g) or half sweet and half hot
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped parsley to be used as decoration (optional)
  • Cucumber, celery, pepper and carrot crudités and bread sticks to accompany

Instructions

  • Place the blade accessory in the Chefbot's glass. Add the 600 g of lentils, the 100 g of Macadamia nuts, the garlic clove, the 60 ml of lemon juice, the 60 ml of oil and the 60 ml of iced water, the 5 g of paprika and salt to taste. Program 1 minute at speed 8 and close.
  • Open the glass of the Chefbot and push down with the spatula what may have stuck to the walls, taste the spread and adjust the dressings, if necessary. Set 1 minute at speed 9 and close.
  • Open the Chefbot’s glass and transfer the spread to a bowl, cover it with kitchen film and leave it to stand in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavours to blend. Decorate with chopped parsley or a little more paprika and serve, accompanied by vegetable crudités and bread sticks.
