- 400 g ground beef
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 small piece fresh ginger (grated (about 1 tsp))
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
- 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste, or to taste)
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
- 2 green onions (thinly sliced)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine beef with garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, and gochujang. Marinate for 10–15 minutes.
- Set the rice cooker to “quick cook” mode and add a little oil.
- Add the marinated beef, stir, close the lid, and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, or leave closed until the cycle finishes and the beef is browned and caramelized.
- Before finishing, stir in sesame seeds and green onions, adjusting seasoning or spiciness to taste.
- Serve hot beef over cooked rice, with sautéed vegetables, kimchi, pickled cucumber, or shredded carrot.
- Optional: top with a fried or poached egg for a bibimbap-style touch.
