Spicy chicken skewers

We know that chicken can sometimes be quite boring. But with this recipe, you have so many ways to prepare it that it’s almost impossible to get bored. Chilli flakes will transport you to Mexico, zaatar to Lebanon and many other possibilities and flavours. They can be served as a side dish with salads, with rice, baked sweet potatoes or on their own. These chicken skewers are versatile and easy to prepare.

  • 50 g Tomato paste concentrate
  • 1 Lime (it's juice)
  • ½ teaspoon Hot paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin
  • ½ teaspoon Onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 20 ml Olive Oil
  • 300 gr Chicken breast


  • Put the tomato paste in a bowl with the lime juice, the powdered spices and the olive oil. Cover tightly and place in the fridge overnight.
  • Remove from the fridge and add the cleaned, skinless chicken breasts to the bowl, mix well and leave for an hour to give them more flavour.
  • Preheat the deep fryer to 160º for 5 minutes.
  • Carefully thread the chicken breasts onto the skewers.
  • Place the skewers in the deep fryer and cook at 180° for 8 minutes.
  • Enjoy these spicy skewers as fresh as from the grill.
